I received a call yesterday from Katherine Meehan, manager for the Arts Program with the MTA (Metro Transit Authority). My work has been selected as one of the finalists for the Portchester, NY Train Station. The selected art-work will be translated into glass in a large section of the exterior of the platform.
We are still waiting to hear from the folks over at the Westchester Arts Council regarding the Arts Alive grant I wrote in conjunction with the Youth Bureau to do a 30 foot mural on the side of their building here in Peekskill. I will be teaching the community youth about different techniques regarding mural making (grid systems, cartoon, transfer) and taking them on a field trip to Philadelphia to tour the Philadelphia Art Project Mural Program. Expecting the phone to ring any minute now…
