Yesterday brought more good news…Arts Westchester awarded me and the Peekskill Youth Bureau an ARTS alive grant. The grant will allow me to teach the community youth about mural painting and will result in a 30 foot mural painted on the exterior of their building downtown. We’ll still need to raise more funds, but it is certainly a good start.
Also, I met with the manager and director of the MTA yesterday and toured Port Chester with the town’s Mayor. It was a great meeting and gave me some much needed insight into the project and how to frame my proposal for the final presentation. I’ve got some amazing competition and am honored to be considered along with the other three artists. Our work was chosen from over 200 entries…and now it’s time to get to work. I’ve got five weeks to pull together something awesome!
