Following is the information for you to commission an original work of art of your loved creatures. I started painting ‘pop’ portraits of my cats, Livia and Augustus years ago. My friends and clients loved them and started asking me to paint their pets, I gladly obliged. Augustus has since passed and I am grateful to have a painted memory of him that will last a lifetime. How to order 1: Deposit A 50% Deposit is required to retain a place on the client wait list. Wait times vary anywhere between 30 days to 6 months according to current workload but an approximate delivery time will be discussed with the client. Inquire ahead of time if you have a specific date in mind. Rush fee of 20% will apply for two week delivery. 2: Design Upon receipt of your photos we can discuss portrait style and size. The photographs you supply will impact greatly on the portrait created. When photographing your pet, get down on their level and try to capture them in full frame or crop the head and shoulders (depending on your preference). Shooting outdoors on an overcast day is best or try to shoot next to a window. Take plenty of photos, let your animal’s personality shine. 3: Progress I will send a progress photograph of the work in progress for your input and direction. 4: Final After completion of the portrait, I’ll e-mail a digital image of the final painting. At this time any changes in the portrait that you still require can be made. Once you are completely satisfied with the painting your final payment will be required. 5: Shipping I ship via USPS unless otherwise specified (or size determines otherwise). Paper paintings are rolled on mailed in a tube. Each piece is insured for its full value. Shipping costs are calculated separately according to size and destination and are paid by the client. If you would like to commission a portrait, or if you just have questions about the process, do not hesitate to contact me and I’ll respond as soon as possible.
