Laughing at Death

$12,000.00

4’ x 6’ acrylic and drawings on canvas

The central icon is inspired by a wall of relief sculptures the path behind the Dalai Lama’s temple in Northern India. I was struck by this design and incorporated it into many of my paintings as a reminder of the nature of impermanence. The drawings are collected from years of sketchbooks and surround the skull representing ‘mind-stuff’…the never ending flow of thoughts that pour from our monkey mind. This is a powerful reminder to live life to the fullest as death escapes no-one.

Due to the nature of the paper on canvas, this painting needs to be shipped on the wooden stretcher bars. Shipping calculated separately.

West Village, NYC 2005

Shown in photos with lotus blossoms at left and right sides (above mirror) sold separately. Inquire for details if interested.
